Truck-borne heli on the A47 south of Norwich

An unusual shape caused me to glance at the traffic on the eastbound carriageway this afternoon circa 15H20 to see a large red and blue helicopter on the back of a low loader.

Any details?

sounds like a S76 from CHC going to North Denes.

It didn't look that large - more like a 412?

Here's a Scotia S76

..and here's 412!

Bristows also have a blue and red (ish) livery. I hope it wasn't their JetRanger IFR machine!

Any help to you Stik?

Cheers

A47 eastbound south of norwich !

the location you saw it is critical, a CHC 76 is by far the most likely option.

a Bristows one would not be going that way

Depends exactly how "south"! And which traffic jam he wanted to sit in to get to/from the airport!

Could it be an AB139?

Cheers

For heaven's sake, don't tell the pax - the last thing they want to here is that the aircraft arrived by road. Or that North Sea pilots are scared of flying over land?

WOW! so CHC now have 3 serviceable S76's between Gt.Yarmouth and Oomberside? Just need to get the pilots trained up now then.
