Hi Friday0815,
I flew that thing in 1986 or 87 in Germany and had to do no conversion or anything else. That may be because it was the first and I guess the last 530 that flew in Germany. It was for demonstration purpose. It's a real workhorse. I loved to do external cargo with it.

Always happy landings

no other endorsement required, just a company check (probably) so you can get to know how to regulate the starts properly.

I don´t know anything about the 530 but doesn´t have the RollsRoyce Allison C30 engine? If so then I would assume that engine is only for hot & high performance and does give no extra capability at sea level and also it uses about 50 lbs more fuel pr/hr than the C20B.

So what is so great about it? I just asking! It looks cool and all but does it really perform better for normal use.

Also I checked JAR-FCL2 appendix 1 and no there is no differences training required, only "D" required between T/R types, "N" models and 600.

or even a rating for the MD530F??
Well yes in JAR world you will need a H369/500 type rating.

The best there is

The 530F or 530FF was, is and probably will always be my favorite aircraft to fly. All the great attributes of the 500 but it auto rotates better, has massive power, and you can hang 650 pounds on the hook that you can't put on the skids. So... you usually don't have to dowload. I used to pull 130 gallons of water at over 10000 feet. Lots faster than a Lama, and lifts almost as much at altitude.

Call me a fan.
