Well is not called "Kaap van Storms" for nothing, and here we are, front row seats on PPRUNE.

Guns, don't discredit me again openly without a proper statement, while trying to find out that I'm not who you thought I am, after telling you so. PM's could start flying around and that could be messy too.

Huh ??? Did you log in with the correct username swaer ?

It is obvious that GM has a problem with helibase.
GB I pressume LH ?

Mate a lot of people has a problem with Helibase if they do not do things the correct way.

Why all the court cases and stuff ? Eviction order ... ?

Why will anybody be taken to court (tens of times) if they are \"clean\" ?

Huey moet weg by V&A – hof
13/12/2005 23:15 - (SA)

Huey doen noodlanding by basis

LLEWELLYN PRINCE

KAAPSTAD. – Die operateurs van die bekende Huey-helikopter is by die V&A Waterfront uitgesit nadat die huurooreenkomste verbreek is.

Regter Jeanette Traverso het in die Kaapse hooggeregshof die V&A Waterfront Properties se kansellering van Helicopter and Marine Service (Edms.) Bpk., The Huey Extreme Club en Madiba Air and Sea (Edms.) Bpk. gehandhaaf.

LH
What you seem to forget is that anyone and everyone who does business with Helibase has some sort of problem with them or these posts would not be here. Were it not for the greasing of palms that now occurs so rapidly in SA, helibase would probably be history.
This group of threads has shown the world is that:
The CAA is ineffective.
Money talks
SANDF is not the SADF.
The Court System can probably be purchased.
And doing things according to the rules is only necessary if you dont have any money.
As to Gerry I have known him for years. Hes on the right side and certainly would get upset when he attempts to do the right thing with no support. Not good for CAA, Good for Helibase. The CAA may be called "Campaign against Aviation" but dont lump that on Gerry.
As to Miss Kate Babili, I have no idea on her qualifications in aviation, but Im guessing Helibase would be more than pleased to allow her to inspect the aircraft..
Basically LH, if you(since you represent Helibase) discredit someone, to most of us that means they are pretty good folks. If you like someone that means you know how to make them smile and go away.
Certainly fun to watch..

By the way,as the rumors go, it must be sort of dark at night when one can purchase their way onto a military base to do the repairs. Next time put the cowlings on correctly. They have a tendancy to fly off in flight when not done correctly.

If it were not for two different authors these threads could be combined.........

Chief Engineer runs with tool box

Dont know how much rumour or truth there is in this,

but,

I believe the brotherhood has been broken.

Apparently GF,packed his tools this morning and beat a hasty retreat as there are now warrants of arrest out for certain people.

He apparently decided it was not becoming to be involved with the saga now that there are warrants of arrest out for some members of the great saga.

Apparently, the arrests are also for the lower ranks as well.

Also I believe that one other trusted member of the saga has decided that enough is enough.

But,

This particular person hold the keys to a lot of entrusted information!!!!!!!!!!.

So now we wait and see.(by the way,in this country, the cops have a way of arresting at the start of a nice looooong week-end and then let you stay until the Monday...
eisch,I know I do.

Oh well

OOOH deary me… what does this then mean for the upcoming great trek (southward) of Executive Helicopters to the cozy confines of Helibase. It was never going to be an easy marriage!!

Please see my new post (so good it needs to separated from this sordid little tale) on this most fantastical of all rumours ..

While I’m at it, LH, GG etc.. hope your bags are packed too china’s cause the cracks are showing .

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." **

That is not only a surprise and a shock. I know Mr O and it always appeared as a top notch company. Rumors say there may have been problems. I certainly wish him well. Helibase is the beginning of an end........

I see we have combined threads. Good thing, saves numerous posts. Might as well throw in the Frelon. Same Game, Same Players, just another Timex looking for a spot to plant itself.

Bleat Bleat

Just heard Supervan live on 567 talk radio, vigorously defending his huey...

Summarised version:
The greater public appear unhappy with a renegade operator exploiting the rules. Numerous folk called in to complain about the 'club membership' to fly. The other operators are required to jump through hoops of fire, he gets away with murder.

Funny though, he admitted losing 2 out of 6 court battles. He maintains he will be flying again in a matter of days, and now owns 16 hueys!

Supreme court orders, warrants for arrest, eviction orders, fraudulent insurance scams, offshore gambling, fake debentures in venture capital, undeclared cash, scorpion raids...it doesn't take a brain surgeon to deduce that where there is smoke there is fire. Compare one year in Gary's life to the norm, if all was as advertised, why is there all this drama?

We watch and wait...

Huey in Cape Town

Ho Herc and Bert,
Looks like you guys have an inside view of the Ysterplaat debarcle. I had supper with big bad gerry last night and he tells me that you guys are right on the money. That is why the law school dropout came on so quick to try and cover the trail with amateur legal bull. Lonely little adder that. Anyhow, it transpires that in fact LH is wrong about "all found in order". It would appear that when G got there the tail cowling was fitted back incorrectly and that when he confronted the Super Gant Grobelaar about it being done in the dark the Gant went beserk and called the OC, Doorman, and the panic set in. It was agreed with the LSD that the situation was getting out of hand with Gerry asking about who got paid to let them on to the Base and when Gerry threatened to produce the informant the Gant lost it and asked Gerry to leave. As gerry says, he has never seen the Doorman before and besides having spoken to him on the phone twice the " Uitkak" that LSD talks about is smoke, in fact Gerry says the LSD got the "Uitkak" and when Gerry asked for the LSD to be removed from the sterile accident scene and because Van was hastily putting the cowling back correcly that he put on wrong the night befor the reply was that Super Gant got Gerry to get in his bakkie and leave. Amazing how sensitive they got when you think about the news getting out that any skollie can buy his way into the place that the President uses regularly, so much for the security at Ysterplaat, wonder who is running it. The Italian vlamgat, CAF, is really scraping the bottom of the Broederbond Barrel to find something with two braincells that he can trust.
Ya Herc, our beloved SAAF is has crossed the line and once you take that envelope you are forever tainted, this appears to be something these guys at Ysterplaat have done before if they do it this easy and it would be a good idea for the Italian Vlamgat to audit the other bucks controlled by these guys on the Base.
As for Big G, he owns them now and they are committed to lie this thing through to the end. Why would a scrap Frelon be allowed at a public airshow when all and sundry know it to be a flying scrap yard. Maybe the Italian Vlamgat will wake up and ask the same questions.
Cheers

Hey Herc,
While the Italian Vlamgat is poking into the midnight visits to his Presidential Base, it may be a good idea for him to ask around as to who gave all those Frelon spares away. They were firmly locked behind SAAF doors at some stage, so there must be another Super Gant with a bulge in his hip pocket, and if you think he could operate without top cover you are wrong, so there must be another OC somewhere also with a bulge in his hip pocket. Quite a nice little sideline bussiness this SAAF thing. And if they are selling Frelon spares under the table and taking gate money for midnight visits, what else are they selling out under the nose of the Manager at CAF office. Once you cross that line it is quite easy the next time around.
You wonder just how high this \"Top Cover\" goes.

Hi there Wyatt,

Like I said, I'll wait for the real story and now we have it.

Ja boet, old Carlo seems to have lost control of his force (Look at the Dube thread ), as for the rest the vrot machines it appears are grounded at last, just wonder how Carlo is gonna deal with the mess left behind. Heard through the grape vine :"Dat die kak in die pos is vir sekere lede, Super Gant included "

Lightbulb

There has always been a love - lost - love hate relationship between the SAAF and the Huey.

Sometimes they are welcome on the base - sometimes they are not - depends if flips are envolved ..

By the way latent heat - no I do not know Super Gant - way after me.

I am an old oom .. maybe he was still eating samies at school when I was flying solo in a Alo III ?

So guys - it is a tad quite from the Frelon / maximus / LH side.

What's up Gary(s) ?

PS: The Italian Boss should have a good look here.

I also heard the interview with Van today on the radio. I have to say he gave a good account of the situation and the previous 'summary' is quite different to what I heard. IMHO most callers had issues with their perception of the helo carrying out "low flying".

Court evicts helicopter service from V&A
Fatima Schroeder
December 15 2005 at 12:12PM

The Cape High Court has ordered that Helicopter and Marine Services, which owns the Huey, a Vietnam war-era helicopter, be evicted from shop premises and a helicopter landing site at the V&A Waterfront after it failed to pay rent.

The company has also been ordered to pay the Waterfront's legal costs.

V&A Waterfront Properties lodged the urgent application against Helicopter and Marine Services, Huey Extreme Club and Madiba Air and Sea, asking for them to be evicted from premises at the Waterfront.

The three companies are controlled by businessman Gary van der Merwe and fall under the umbrella of Wealth International Network.

The parts of the premises referred to included shop space, a helicopter landing site and a kiosk.

Helicopter and Marine Services is the owner of the helicopter, which was manufactured by Bell Aviation.

Helicopter and Marine Services hires it to the Huey Extreme Club, which flies it. The club is controlled by Helicopter and Marine Services.

Van der Merwe denied owing rental. He claimed that one of the terms of the agreement was that V&A Waterfront Properties should not interfere with the operation of the business run from the premises.

He claimed that this term was breached when V&A Waterfront Properties caused the vessel, the MV Cape Endurance, to be arrested in August this year which led to Helicopter and Marine Services losing a lucrative contract.

But in a judgment handed down on December 9, Deputy Judge President Jeanette Traverso said this could never be a defence in an eviction matter.

"At best (they) will enjoy an unliquidated claim for damages if the arrest is found to be unlawful ... The MV Cape Endurance was arrested in terms of a court order. How this can ever constitute interference by (V&A Waterfront Properties) with (Helicopter and Marine Services') utilisation and benefit of the leased premises is difficult to understand," she added.

Van der Merwe also contended that his company has paid certain preservation costs for which V&A Waterfront Properties was liable and that it was entitled to claim against the rental due.

He said the preservation costs were in excess of the rental claimed. But Judge Traverso said both leases of the helipad and shop premises prevent rental from being paid that way.

Judge Traverso said she was satisfied that V&A Waterfront Properties had not made out a case against the Huey Extreme Club and Madiba Air and Sea.

She added that the relief sought in respect of the kiosk was not pursued and ordered Helicopter and Marine Services to be evicted from the shop premises and landing site.

Well, 2 out of 6 is a Plus. Dont sell him short, this guy could sell water to a drowning man.

I wonder if Fatima Shroeder (Newsie) has been made aware of this site. Maybe someone should drop a dime on her so she could add more spice to the Newspaper.
Look at it on the positive side. Next time your driving up the N1 and pull into one of those High Speed Petrol Stops, you may even see Dog Pound or LH pumping your gas....

This Huey mess has been going on for years, literally. It seriously makes a statement of conditions in Africa and which way they are going. The word is out that many will no longer do business with most SA Aviation companies unless the full amount is in the bank. Between the four threads regarding this matter, this particular subject out numbers all others. Look at SWFA, the company has virtually lost an aircraft. They will probably never see it returned in to its shipped condition. All through legal ranglings, and no doubt the use of copius amounts of fat handshakes.
Whats worse is this can be translated to almost any business in SA. I have seen others get screwed with "I mailed the check yesterday" or "I cannot understand why the check didnt clear" , " The bank should have transfered the funds"
I even have had some of my friends do this..... almost totally unheard of in my world. Once it is done those folks can NEVER do business again. Yet in SA they just smile and continue as if they dont have a dishonest bone in their body.
Courts in SA are not the answer, but where does one go. I guess if the amount is larger enough, We know the answer as the Police are so ineffective who would miss the bad guy?
Its sad to SA going this way, and Im sure unless you have been in a situation like this all is well. Its just a matter of time.
OK, off the soapbox.lets see what the next thread will bring......

Jingle Bells.....Santa, The Van, the LSD (Law School Demon)and a few reindeers....

Dashing through the Ysterplaat streets, in a four-horse BMW covertable sleigh,
Over the aprons we go, laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tails ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing a slaughtering song tonight.

(Chorus) Whop, whop, whop, chink, chink all the way!
O what fun it is to press the button in a 14 PAX Huey sleigh.
Whop, whop, whop, chink, chink all the way!
O what fun it is to pull power and ride away in 14 PAX Huey sleigh.

A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Merry Broburg, was seated by my side;
His face red, neck lean and lank, misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a knot and got the boot up his dot.

(Chorus) Whop, whop, whop, chink, chink all the way!
O what fun it is to press the button in a 14 PAX Huey sleigh.
Whop, whop, whop, whop whop all the way!
O what fun it is to pull power and ride away in 14 PAX Huey sleigh

A day or two ago, the story I must tell
I went out and saw the Ysterplaat show, and on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by, escorted to the gates by three armed mates
He blushed as there I stood looking in his eye but he quickly drove away

(Chorus) Whop, whop, whop, chink chink all the way!
O what fun it is to press the button in a 14 PAX Huey sleigh.
Whop, whop, whop, chink, chink all the way!
O what fun it is to pull power and ride away in 14 PAX Huey sleigh

Now the Huey sits nice and snug in it bay ready to go and make some hay
Take the girls tonight, and sing this slaughtering song;

Just get a 14 PAX Huey, a T53 and a bottle of Chivas
Hitch ol Gerry to an open sleigh and crack! you'll take the lead.

Whop, whop, whop, chink, chink is the ORDER of the day...wishing you all a fat Xmas.
