Thumbs up One Million!

Our Rotorheads Around the World thread, started by BlenderPilot in December 2002, is about to reach 1,000,000 views!

If you've got any pictures to help celebrate this momentous milestone in PPRuNe's history, now would be a good time to post them.

If you have the pic on your pc, go to photobucket, create an account, upload the image to their server, copy the URL from the URL-box underneath the pic you have uploaded, click on the little scenic thingy above on the right of this window when you write a reply and it should be there. Photobucket also resizes the pic for you in case its too big.
Good luck!

Does anyone have the kit to create a jpg from a 35mm slide? I've a few from 1980 when I was the 20 y/o FDO on the Belford Dolphin alongside Forties Charlie. The 365N was operated by Northern Scottish. Will happily post them to someone who has the kit.

Airborne_artist,

A good photo lab should be able to scan the slides for you and create a digital images, shouldn't cost that much. I'd be careful about posting slides, they can be easily damaged and then you've lost it forever.

Cheers,

CH

Hello Airborne_artist,

Ah yes, Northern Scottish - a name from the past. That was in fact the bus company which ran the buses around Aberdeenshire. The helicopter company was North Scottish - a common mistake to mix the two names up. It made a great deal of sense for the company and its English variant to be rebranded Bond Helicopters after the owners' family name. For any aviation historian, David Bond, the founder of the Company was one of the main players in the Berlin Airlift. He and Fredie Laker got together and ran up to twelve Halifaxes operating from Wunsdorf and Hamburg to Berlin.

Great thread and great photos

It makes me twice as jealous looking though - I want to be flying those helicopters and I'd love to be able to take magnificent photos like the ones posted!!

Doesn't seem to have any arguements though - are we sure its a Rotorheads thread

Keep em coming

Well there you are, hope it works.
Most of the picture I was flying that particular aircraft at the time.
The A109 was another guy in the company but was also working there.
