A quick question.

On two of the photos below there is a small box below the aircraft in the center in between the skids, both on the jet ranger and the 369. However on the 3rd link there isn't one.

I am wondering is it some sort of ancillary equipment, and if it is what is it?

Thanks for looking.

on21,

On the second photo (G-JIVE), it looks very much like a NightScanner, a movable spot-light for night operations. It's controlled with a little coolie-hat on the collective.

I'm guessing it's probably the same on the JetRanger (although the housing does look slightly different to our B206s).

And, yes, it is an 'optional extra'!

HTH,

If you look closely at G-JIVE you can see the white rim of the landing light clamp tucked flush with the housing.
