Thumbs down helicopter accident in Austria

According to some newspapers a helicopter crashed in Upper Austria that killed the student and severly injured the flight instructor. Other than that no further information - until now.

It was an R-22 of Helitrade. The news article says just before the accident they asked for clearance to land, to get fuel.

Thumbs down Bloody hell

There is only one word that comes to mind - Fk The instructor was lucky to survive. The helicopter looks quite twisted and crumpled.

At least it didn't burn, so the investigators should have an easier time (although the possibility of being out of fuel may be contributary).

Looks like the instructor was very lucky - a lot of trees and not a lot of R22 ; and my condolences to the student's family and friends

In which case it was lucky the bird didn't catch fire - looks like it was ripped apart quite thoroughly.

And the instructor didn't make it either? A bad day .
