You have mail!

Hows about this for a view out of the window?
The picture was sent to me by a friend in the US Navy.
Crewmen on the attack submarine Baltimore standing by with a grappling hook to snag a mail shipment being lowered
from an SH-60 Seahawk from Anti-Submarine Squadron Five.

Hey Leemind,

I always wondered what that well built fellow was doing, but your second shot clearly shows he is pointing to the local hostelry.

What a great thread - thanks for sharing these with us.

RobboRider - the Soviets' choice of light blue cockpit paint schemes for their aircraft was reportedly based on studies showing that this was the most relaxing color for aircrew. (Gunship - were you always relaxed when flying the Hind operationally, or did Natasha make this impossible....?).

OUTSTANDING...

I'm having a hard time deciding if May, July, or December is the best one of the year. Well done!

The picture was taken on June 24, 2003 at Abbott Pass elev 9,500'. The Pass is just a few miles west of Lake Louise Alberta, and is on the Rockies Continental Divide. The surrounding peaks are around 11,000'.

We fly in to the pass several times a year to service an old stone mountian climbers Hut built around the turn of the century.

Another less dramatic picture of the pass...
