Hi Flying Lawyer....
Well I also was just in West Virginia last weekend. Rode the Blue Ridge Parkway on the bike and did a checkout for a rafting company on the Gauley and New Rivers near Fayetteville.
Couldn't help but think about the "flying under bridges" thread while looking at the New River Bridge...not that it would be much of a challenge.

Relaxing & working at Barrow Island WA
I've been pestering my hubby for some photos for awhile. He's finally brought a couple home and agreed I can post them.
Excellent photography by Mick Prentice.
Thanks to John Eacott for hosting them.

The pictures on this thread have made this FW pilot want to learn to fly helicopters!
This was my one helicopter experience to date.
A very, very welcome sight:
Their landing was better than ours!
Take off with 5 POB at 9600ft:

What is tragic in Bloodycrows first picture is where the 76 has landed; Hwy 17, "The Trans Canada", Canada's Super Highway, the only Highway linking Western Canada to Eastern Canada.
I realize I'm ranting, but you would think we could do better than a single lane Highway as our MAJOR AUTOROUTE!

Nothing to do with helicopters, but one of my favourites nonetheless.
The photograph shows a friend of mine flying his Spitfire Mk IX (MH434) during the filming of a television series some years ago.

IHL,
Its not that it's single lane (Just like OZ and NZ) but that the speed limit is 90 kph everywhere!!!
Soooooo easy to get nailed for a ticket. Specially around Winnipeg
Still managed to get from Winnipeg International to Kenora airport in 2hrs flat...

Flying Lawyer - Mark and I were good friends and I shot him in the P-40 just before he left Kiwiland and went back to the UK, about a month before he was killed in the Buchon.
