Fixed Wing Conversion to Rotary info

Hi ,

hoping to get some information from you experienced rotor heads. I live in dubai but have recently completed my Australian fixed wing CPL in brisbane. Just wondering if someone can give me a rough estimate of how much the training for a CPL(a) to CPL(h) conversion goes for in aus ? As I've been in love with choppers since i managed to get a back seat ride with the guys at aerogulf, cheers !

thanks !

(sorry if this has already been covered , i did do a search...)

This is covered in the CASA website. I think it is about 50 hours in helicopters after you have a CPL A.

You need to do 70 hours to convert over. Depending when you done your CPL theory exams you may have to do 5 CPL H exams, have a look on the CASA website and you should be able to see what's required. Also I would suggest buying a distance learning course from AFT. I passed all my exams first attempt, touch wood. Good luck,as its great fun !
