They were at the LondonAir show selling MD and Enstrom and looked pretty "above" water !! I hear they are selling a whole load of 206 parts on the cheap, ie less than 50% list, incl engines ,g/boxes, blades
etc which is what you may have heard.

They do have warehouse full of parts from Agusta (hence limiting their appeal to JetRanger owners), but most of it doesn't come with trace/release paperwork that any UK-based outfit will accept (limiting its appeal a shed-load further). So it's my experience that it's as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
Sprinkle on a smidge of over-enthusiastic pricing (a servo sans paperwork overhauled in 1993 for $3k compared with one from the States, recently done with a stamped up Form 1 for $4,100) and you have a warehouse full of paperweights.
Or maybe I'm just an old sceptic. Oh, and the engines have long gone, sold as a job lot.

WhySAS,
Why do you ask "Is it not doing too well?" ...... the best time to sell would be when the business is doing good! Cash in your chips and maybe start again, get all your old customers back and sell again. Many a fortune has been made in aviation this way.

206 JOCK you dont know much do you
!!!!
Firstly There IS all the relevant paperwork on the parts
Second The parts can be fitted to Bell helicopters outside USA and Canada, there are many around in UK, Europe and Australia that have done so for many years.
Third The engines havent all been sold as a job lot, i was offered a zero time Allison last week! and a C18.
I dont think they got where they are now by buying " chocolate fireguards "!!
Maybe you could contact them and let them know the parts they are selling are not right ? !! I just wish i could find parts for my 350 at less than 50% list
Apart from that you were smack on

TC, you are correct that all EMS or Police sales would have to go through PAS, so I assume your sceptical mind thinks that there is no other demand for Explorers? There are three private/corporate Explorers in the UK, and what if one of those wanted a second MD902 to replace the 520N he just sold? Think that's one of the two, perhaps FNW can give clues to the other...

ppheli, TC, FNW,
I can imagine that to sell 900/902's in the last couple of years must be quite difficult considering that MD haven't been able to supply them!! How can even try and sell something that you don't have and can't get hold of????
I do believe that PAS bought a few second hand from Holland or Denmark or something to convert into UK Police and AA machines.

Are you a shareholder? You seem very keen to promote these parts.
I can only tell you what the parts manager there told me. Maybe he was a liar, but I was only trying to buy some parts off him!
Oh yeah, nearly forgot. I asked him for some major bits prices as I was toying with a little project. He e-mailed three weeks ago to say sorry, he was really busy but would get round to it soon....still haven't heard a word from him.
But I'm sure you're right...these parts are just great. Other owners will get some great bargains. But I'll look elsewhere, thanks anyway.

i think its 4 900 sales not all new [i have flown 2 of them ], 1 was definately new ,all to private owners in the uk
pas only deal with police and medical , eastern atlantic are the dealers for all of the md and enstrom range they also have a large stock of 900 parts
from what i gather the offer was too good to refuse SOH always seems to come up smelling of roses
nigel
