VNS-2, What is it??

Hi guys,

I was reading the web page for the Ukrainian helicopter and was wondering if anyone knows what the torsion straps were made of.....

It says that they are made of VNS-2 'stainless', and there are a couple of sites that list the metal being used on russian fighters as a wing surface (skin) etc, but other than that, I can't find the 'common' name or proper disignation anywhere.

Can someone provide the correct name (western version??) of this stuff? What did the H300 use for their torsion straps?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

rotorque

Stainless steel, but I don't know the specific grade.
