Coolangatta based B47 makes emergency landing on beach

Anbody have information on the rumour that on the Tuesday just gone a Bell 47 from a Coolangatta based helicopter company made an emergency landing on a beach after running out of fuel? Apparently the pilot made a MAY DAY call and carried out a successful auto, refilled the tank and went on his merry way.

Yes, an auto in a Bell 47 may be a non event. Still not an excuse to fill your tanks with air and practice them for real.

Doesn't look like anyone knows to much. Well hopefully if the rumour is true, the pilot will have done one thing right and reported it to the relevant departments and we will be able to read about it at the end of the month.
