Bristows on the way out?

I've heard on the great aviation grapevine that Bristow Helicopters are being squeezed out of the Woodside contract in Karratha by CHC Helicopters.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

Having been an ex bristow employee, I have heard from others that this could well be true, however no confirmation.

I don't think so fella's. There is so much work out of the North West Shelf I heard that CHC are just "helping".

Danger

'Helping'! What does that mean? Out of the goodness of their hearts they decided to 'help' their direct competitor with one of their contracts.
Tell me it isn't so.
Do we all now live in fairyland with rainbows and lollypops!?

If this is true I hope they are making some serious greenery out of it!

Bristow machines busy elsewhere, cyclone season needs more machines to de-man when cyclones come close to the rigs. Bristow is doing fine.

I believe CHC was there long before any cyclone was even forcast. Does Bristow have some magic cyclone detector that they haven't told the rest of the world about? Might be time for Bristows to purchase some new machines to cover their contracts rather than letting the opposition pick up the pieces for them! Would be interesting to see how the two companies operate side by side, whether there is any glaring differences in professionalism and customer service.

Im with you shlaaper.

I feel that Bristow have been, well below par for quite some time now, and its only a matter of time before the oil comp wake up to this.

The simple fact that bristow over commited them self's "again", and CHC were very flexible in helping out at short notice, go's to show who's on the ball ! ! !

And if the two companies were to operate side by side it wouldn't be long before you saw, who's the market leader!
Good Luck !

While I hate to burst the bubble of the 'We hate Bristow' club I should point out that Bristow is currently covering a lot of CHC Schreiner flights in Den Helder, Holland due to CHC's lack of aircraft and crews.

But keep going if it makes you feel more secure in your jobs!

You obviously work for that once fine company, however quote "But keep going if it makes you feel more secure in your jobs!", it is no longer that fine company, remember it is faceless OLOG shareholders that hold the purse strings, is your job secure????

It isn't the OLOG shareholders I would worry about. It is a very interesting mix nowadays of the Best of the British and Boudreauxism combined. That is certainly a marriage made in Heaven!

Anyone taking bets on how long this latest set of bean counters last before they bolt for the door?

RTS, no Bristow bashing here, just an interest in whats happening with the two big players here in Aus.

There is no such thing as job security, anything can happen to any company, anytime but if said company is incorrectly managed then the chances of failure are higher.

Is Bristow correctly managed? You tell me. Do you feel secure in your position?

From my seat it seems as if Bristows management have lost their enthusiasm for the job. Last time I transitted Karratha I saw three Bristow aircraft and none of them had the same paint scheme. Surely a company of that size wants to portray an professional image! After all its not as if they were busted arse jet rangers spraying crops!

Nutcracker,

Perhaps it would be like this:

Boudreaux waz a widower an' Clotile waz a widow. Dey bot' lived in de nursing home for a long time. One night de ole folks home had a party an' Boudreaux and Clotile struck up some talk. Before you know eet, Boudreaux axed Clotile to marry heem. She say, "Oh mais ouis, mais ouis", an' after de party dey went back to deir rooms.
De nex' day Boudreaux woke up and he say, "You know dat I don remember if she said yes or no, so I'll call her on de telephone an' tole her dat ma memory is getting' jus' a leetle bad and I can't remember if she say yes or no when I axed her to marry me.
He called her de nex' day jus' like he planned, and she say, "Oh, I said yes, an' ah am so glad dat you called, cause I couldn't remember who axed me.

Apparently CHC Australia have already started recruiting new pilots for co-pilot positions on AS332's.

Can anyone confirm this?

Looks like we may see some changes in the wind.
