Smile August 2005 calendars

I was spoilt for choice this month, with some stunning shots from RS2 of the RNLAF Apache at RIAT: too hard to choose which one to use, so there is a choice

Also an action photo of CHC's Helimed One from LaTrobe Valley winching into a crash site here in Victoria after a blizzard: difficult conditions, full marks to the Kestrel pilot who found the white aircraft wreck in the snow.

and a couple of widescreen versions:

Click on the thumbs for the full version of the calendar

NB: Expand the image first, and then save the expanded image as background.

Some more top calendars for our desktops.

This month, our thanks go to John Eacott of The Helicopter Service Australia for creating the calendars. Good move offering a rescue helicopter at work in the snow option for our many Oz members who, like you, are in the middle of winter ar the moment.

Thanks to Paul Bunch one of our British members who captured a Dutch Air Force Apache displaying at RIAT recently.
Stunning shots, Paul.

Just wondering what images people enjoy each month. Do you want military one month and then civil or would you prefer to have one of each for each month.

Only reason I ask this is I am going to be out travelling and shooting a lot over the next few months so depending on what people enjoy I might shoot some specific images for John and Blender to have a look at for monthly calendars.

Cheers

Ned

Good idea,

The more choices the better,

however if only one then fine they are after all volunteering their time for our benefit and we mustn't forget that.

Ned it'd be good to see some of your shots as a calendar.

Thanks all of you for your efforts

Before I got the superb Apache shots, I had prepared another August page using a "historic" shot from my old collection. Down the track, would photos from some years ago appeal as an alternative calendar, or would the majority here rather have modern helicopters only?

Hi John,
thanks for the calender, it will be another one to remember no doubt. I seem to be having a little trouble with the picture quality, it is all out of focus. Is there anything I can do to sharpen it up??
Regards
Micky.

Micky,

I take it that you are following the thumbnail link to the full size image, not trying to use the thumb as a calendar?

I agree with zhishengji751.

Leave it to the calendar producers to choose the subject.

We've had a good variety since the calendars started - and haven't had a bad one yet.

September Calendars (Another Widescreen Calendar Added!)

I had forgotten about a great picture of a 427 and I just made into a widescreen version, its at the bottom.

I thank everyone who sent pictures, I got some really good ones, unfortunately some of them didn't have enough resolution to be used in the calendar, I hope some of you can rescan them or get the originals so that I can use them in the future. Some others were not very suitable because the intersting part would have to be covered either by the calendar and logos or the desktop icons.

The two top calendars are in 1024 x 768 pixels, the last are widescreen versions.

Thanks for sending the pictures.

Top pics as always BP.

Can I be cheeky and ask for a widescreen version of the air ambulance. I want to fly the local flag and all that...

No problem if not.
