Question UK Jobs

Dear all - Can anyone give me an idea of the state of the employment market for helicopter pilots in the UK at the moment? I read conflicting reports about about pilot shortages and then hear that pilots are being laid off. I've been working overseas for some time and am thinking about returning home to Blighty. Thanks.

Well, the news is either so bad that no one can bear to tell me, or there aren't any helicopter pilots left! Guess I'll stay here.

Hmm. I left the AAC last July and had a pick of 4 jobs to take up, I eventually moved three times in 6 months before I got what I wanted. There are loads of jobs out there from Charter, Police, Offshore - You name it, they want it, it's yours.

Thanks for the replies guys, but I am still confused. I suppose it's all down to personal experiences.
