Canadian to FAA
Hi there I hold a commercial heli lisence in canada with 115 hours, and 60 hours on fixed wing. I would like to know what is needed to convert to an FAA lisence. I am finding it difficult to find work in Canada and was thinking about going to the States, converting to FAA and doing an instructors check out. Is this smart? How hard are work visa's to come by? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Re: Canadian to FAA
The conversion may not be a big factor. The lack of total hours is no help and VISA for the U.S. is questionable. I think you will find a lot of Canadians are working in Europe, Africa and other spots easier than in the U.S.
Instructors route for low timers seems to be the best way to not only build time, but make you a better pilot.

Re: Canadian to FAA
Hope someone can help me.
I have been asked to ferry fly a Canadian registered B-212 from BC to Greenland.
Does anyone know if there exists a bilateral agreement between the US FAA and the Canadian TC on honoring each other pilots certifcate´s?
I would like to do the flight on my FAA ATPL licence without going through any conversion hassle.
This would not be a commercial flight, strictly privat!
Anyone??

Re: ferry flight to Greenland. I live in BC and hold a commercial heli lisence. Do you need some company for the flight, would help clean or what ever is needed? I am a low timer and would love the opportunity to fly in a chopper to Greenland!!
