AOC/CP help and advice please
Greetings all.
After driving nearly 20000 km looking for work since finishing my CPL, I've been offered an opportunity to generate my own work with a 47. Best offer I've had yet.
But, as with many things, there are hurdles. Although I've been told that I'm a good pilot (as good as a 120 hour pilot can be that is), I know that I need to continue my tutelage under someone experienced. So to take advantage of the 47 on offer, I need to find an AOC to operate under. Understandably, many AOC holders are reluctant to enter into an arrangement with someone unknown and operating away from their base. Other holders are more interested in bleeding the opportunity of as many $$ as they can, which makes it unviable. A couple of others I don't want anything to do with.
The next option is to get my own AOC. I have financial backing and support, and the skills to put it together, but I need a Chief Pilot.
Here, finally, I come to the point - I'd like to find someone who is interested in being a part-time CP for a small, single aircraft, operator in SE Qld, Australia. Someone who is willing to coach the new pilot in the ways of operation and provide guidance to handing over the reins in 6-12 months.
The catch being that it won't be big dollars or prestige - but helping someone get a good start in the industry. I would be doing all the work, but under supervision and guidance where appropriate. Ideally someone who is semi-retired...
I'd like to be able to create something that could provide a permanent opportunity for new pilots.
Is this feasible? Would anybody be interested?
