Question Avionics Question ???

Avionics Question.

Does anyone know much about a KING KNS 80? Would appreciate any advice on how to operate it and where to get useful info on it. (fitted to an old B206 Jet Ranger)

Thanx.
BC

Re: Avionics Question ???

Bladecrack... don't know a thing about it I am afraid!

But you can get the Pilot Guide here: https://www3.bendixking.com Click on Support, choose Technical Publications and then search on KNS 80

Just a tip... Bendix use a strange way of dowloading the pdf file. What you need to ensure first is that you have Adobe Acrobat on your computer. Then, when you click on View, select save and choose your desktop as the destination. When you try to open the file from the desktop it will ask you to choose the program ... select Adbobe Acrobat. Any difficulties, let me know.

Some sort of acknowledgement would have been nice. I put in a bit of work to give that reply. Six months later I guess I'm not going to get one. Some people are just takers....

Yep, totally agree. I appreciate the people who do reply. It's frustrating when folk don't reply to questions too mate

Thanks Anyway!

Gerund,
Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I couldn't get the info I needed off the website you suggested and I didn't persevere... (short fuse when computers dont play ball ), anyhow I think the unit in the 206 may be faulty so I struggled on without it , though it would have been nice to see it working!
Anyway your advice was much appreciated
Regards,
BC.

BC,

Without a description of what wasn't working for you, it's difficult to give specific advice, but I had a KNS80 for a while, and it isn't really suited for helicopter operations. King have set it up for fixed wing/left seat operations, so the screen is optimised for viewing from the left, and the operating buttons are angled to the left, also. PITA from the right seat of a helicopter, the screen will appear a strange brown monochrome, yet full colour when seen from the left seat!

If you describe what trouble you are having, we may be able to help!
