Smile RAF PUMA ENGINE RETROFIT

I have heard that the RAF are carrying out a detailed study looking into a possible upgrade of the current Puma helicopter by replacing the Turbomeca Turmo IIIC4 engine with the Turbomeca Makila engine. This I understand has already been carried out by some overseas forces that has greatly enhanced the Puma performance. Having worked with the Makila in the North Sea, it's a good, reliable and very responsive engine so this may give the RAF Puma a new lease of life.

Question

Remarkable in the year that coincides with the 30th year of its service.

This was suggested as an upgrade about 20 years ago!
