Post Aussie CPL(H)

I am wanting to hear from any brand new australian CPL(H) holders who may have travelled to USA or Canada after completing their licences to find work. Obviously, most countries have a lot of inexperienced people looking for work, though not a lot of new licence holders are willing to travel that distance to find a first job. I am wanting to know difficulties in obtaining work permits or whether a a small operator might not require the correct paper work. Is being an australian an advantage in regards to novelty factor??

Any past experiences would be appreciated, contacts etc.

I am not looking for a easy way into the industry , just trying to consider every option.

I have previously been involved in the building industry and also speak basic spanish

Thanks
