There's several lucky guys there, the aircrew and especially the guy in the water.

Wow,

do you have the story for this clip? Where, when who?

did they get the guy out?

what sort of heli/crew was this (I know it was an EC135), was it EMS? Police? Rescue? I am assuming its not private due crewman and crewman in a helmet.

Does this demonstrate Nick L's continued points about the safety of next generation helos?

I donīt Know!

But I think from the paintjob on the EC135 its one of the 9 Bavarian Police Choppers ( south Part of Germany) and I would assume the clip was recorded by another police EC135 during the Flood in August 2005 on the border of the Alps, around Garmisch- Partenkirchen.
as I said i donīt know - Just putting one and one together

Happy new year to all Rotorheads

Extremely fortunate, bearing in mind the consequences of the 'fenestron dunking' that the Dauphin in Taiwan had a while back.

Seems to be the world isn' as small as she wants.

This is a some years old video and i'm surprised about the astonishment it makes... more than 4 years published and it's on different homepages to see.

Indeed an bavarian police EC 135 filmed from an other EC 135 from the same unit. Both ships were on a press and media tour with the bavarian minister of the interior Good press of course...

They got the guy in the water, the a/c was damaged and after that incident nearly all EC 135 operators in Germany and Austria prohibited emphatic their crews such kinds of water rescue with EC 135 and low skid! Thought this is known?

They were very lucky... but really brave! I believe the crew was still acclimated on their old BO 105 with the much higher tail rotor. The bavarian police changed their BO 105 short time ago with the EC 135.
