What happened to this forum?

Used to be such a lively and entertaining spot, until recently! Even the non-rotorheads on the R/T page are commenting on it!

So what's the problem. Don't like being told what to think , do , or say ?

Well, instead of simply saying nothing, let's get back to it. I've never had much time for people telling me what to do, and I can't think its about to start now!

The great attraction of this forum, was a free and open exchange of ideas, rumours, humour, intelligence, stupidity;- whatever!

Think I'll find another forum and agitate them instead!

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have noticed(see Drying Paint).
I think I'll go somewhere interesting like Flying Instructors, if things don't improve.

Blame it all on Heli Dvr, as it was he who told us not to bother civi types with our banter and go to military pilots.

OK guys, I thought this had all been settled long ago in the original thread "Military Affairs". I guess not, so here goes one more time.

In voicing publicly some complaints received by email, I provoked one of the more spirited discussions on this forum and at the end enthousiasticly agreed with the majority that nothing is served by "pigeon holing", as one of you put it. Please check the original thread on "Military Affairs" if you want to verify this.

In my view a moderator moderates, i.e. he opens up and hopefully guides a discussion between one or more opposing points of view. That's what I attempted to do in this case and I stand by my comments in total. To those who took offence at my somewhat hamfisted opening remarks, I most humbly and sincerely apologize.

If in the mean time some of you want to take some cheap shots this will at least keep us all grinning and that's cool by me. Providing a convenient target is another useful role that a moderator must happily be prepared to play.

For the record, if anybody has any post he/she wants to post, please stop making excuses and post your posts wherever you want to post them, including and especially here. Who is stopping you?

Maybe we'll get some life in the old girl again?
