Question Civvy Scout AH?

I keep seeing a Scout around here (10nm S of LGW) usually every other Sunday and always heading about East, anyone know who runs it? As it never seems to go West, how long to circumnavigate?
Cheers,
Gainesy

Got a registration ? There were two AH-1s at Thruxton on Saturday, one of which is currently advertised for sale - couldn't give me the money to buy it, could you ?

HTP:
It was too far off to see if it had a civ reg or mil serial. Nagcinchome says no to any ex-mil stuff since I bought a Land Rover (which ain't as noisy as the Scout which I could hear from inside the ragtop Rover at its Vne! (c.65 downhill/downwind)
I'd like to contact the Scout owner/operator to set up a photo shoot tho so any help in tracing would be appreciated.
Cheers

The Scouts in question are owned by a private individual and are kept in the original livery. They are based at Redhill in the Hangar used by Gatwick Avionics - a call to tony O Kill 01737-822215 mob - 0850 152033 (Gatwick Avionics) will enlighten you.
Incicidentally, Derek Jones -ex Bristow did a test flight in them for pilot magazine a couple of years ago, they may be worth contacting.

Gainesy :

The "For Sale" Scout is owned by Nick Bailey. Of you wanted piccies of that - in it's non-military scheme - his phone number, as obtained from the advert, is 01225 709494 (work), 01672 516027 (home).

Too all who may be interested, there is also a mighty Scout at Cranfield in the hangarage by the old Huey that was blagged from Galtieri in 1982. If you wander up there, the technicians always give you the time of day, a cheery grin and answers to questions. Perhaps some of our own could take note!

If you are ever in Nottingham and still want some pictures I have the key to a hangar with an airworthy Scout in it.

The flight test for Pilot magazine was done by Pat Malone in the May 2000 issue of Pilot. The aircraft was G-NOTY, Thruxton-based and owned by Ros Coplestone, who has a hangar there. At the time Coplestone had certificated a dozen Scouts and was working on a Wasp. Anything you want to know about Scouts for sale, he's your man. Anybody at Thruxton will give you his number.

Gainesy, there's another one based very close to the southern boundary of the late Dunsfold airfield which may match up with what you are seeing?

Eurocopter, I thought the one at Redhill was for sale because the owner has got tired of the Surrey weather and was moving to the French Riviera??
