Well, well !!
What goes round, comes round. See RN Wasps circa 60s,70s and rotor head flotation gear. Mind you, all this sort of namby-pamby stuff is for chaps who eat quiche.
Proper hiccopleeter fellas go and "enjoy" the 'Dunker' at Vernon so that they can cope with all this 'Which way is up?' stuff. Great joy!! Nostalgia is not what it used to be

Angry

And while Im in a grumbling state of mind Id just like to say that Id be a lot happier if the company purporting to prevent my helo from capsising knew what the hell it was talking about.

How can you have any confidence in the product if the numpties that sell it dont know the fundamental difference between capsising and turning turtle?

Do they even know what their product is supposed to do? On the basis of their statements they clearly do not. Do they know the difference between port and starboard, afloat and sunk? It would not appear so.

Pathetic

SNAFU

'69 or thereabouts ! ! Why? Have things changed since then? Doesn't Old Harry drive the tilting crane anymore? My word - doesn't time pass quickly when you're enjoying yourself? Better go and lie down again

Sorry to disappoint you Jack, but the dunker moved to Somerset quite a while ago. (I'm not sure exactly when, but it's been there since at least 1987, when I first encountered it)

BTW, just to really upset you, from a brief straw poll over half my squadron weren't even born when you last got dunked!! Nice to see that the FAA past is alive and well on the Net!
