Question

I do quite fancy going. Much needed holiday come fact finding mission!

Anyone got any idea of prices etc..

Are they doing an all inc. package this year again?

I just decided to go, and booked a flight to Orlando yesterday on impulse, when I discovered there were loads of cheap flights on teletext - I guess people are still scared of flying. Don't know about any all-in prices; "Whirly-Girls" have reduced rate day passes for members, and when I booked my flight I was offered me a reasonably priced hotel on the same street, so it was all arranged so quickly I didn't quite believe I'd done it. Can't take a lot of time of work at the moment so only spending three days there - I can't believe it, going from North Wales to Florida for a weekend; I must be nuts!

Looking forward to meeting some of you there maybe.

Thumbs up

I'm going. Just waiting for confirmation on renting a house before booking the flight. Hopefully meeting up with friends who both run schools in California, and maybe a couple of other pilot friends working in the US.

I’ve not been before so would appreciate any advice. E.g what’s the package you refer to? Do you just go to the main halls or are the seminars or evening events / dinners worth a visit?

Happy New Year to one and all

Orlando is tourist city, cheap, efficient and organised.

Firstly, get your plans together and book your admission to the show. If you book before 4 January 2002, you can save yourself a significant sum of money on entry tickets to the show. Booking online also stops the mad rush of trying to register! Register here.

The schedule for Heli-Expo is here.

Orlando is cheap to get to; car rental is cheap and rooms are reasonably priced. You should be able to find enough to eat and drink for free, once you're there!

Cya there.

Edited to reflect the correct year!

The options are for passes for all 3 days (full registration) including the awards banquet, or for each day individually.

If you are an employee of an organisation which is a full member of the HAI, you will be eligible for the reduces rates.

I do not know how the form sorts eligibility for member rates, as it identified mine by Company. If you are employed by a member organisation, then enter the details and select the appropriate discounted price. I can only imagine (but maybe not!) it will reject your reservation if it defines you as ineligible.

Does that help?

Well, I'll be working that week, but have thought of driving up either Fri night (Emailed you Whirly ... ) or that saturday, it's a 3 hour drive from where I am.

But either way, I'm for all of us PPRuNer's raising hell that Sat night and into sun Morning!

Well, I'm not flying back till Sunday afternoon, so that sounds OK. I think I might be in need of a holiday to recover by the time I get home.
