Post Mercy and aid Flying experiences

Hi all,
I am currently writing a book, about mercy, aid, relief and casevac flight operations, in Africa and other places/

I am looking for personal anecdotes, photographs of aircraft and personnel, of their time on these operations. Anecdotes need not be just about flying, but must be in connection with relief operations, and not fairy stories!

I have been planning to do this , since I was an aid worker in Rwanda in 1994, and saw the round the clock efforts in Goma, and other places, and now I am trying to tell the story.

I need input from pilots, ops planners, loadies, handlers, in short, people who were there, be they civil or military!

It always always struck me, that no one in the outside world, knows the risks and dangers, that aircrew and other staff on these operations face, and I think it's time they did.

If you have any stories, anecdotes, recollections, photos etc, i'd certainly appreciate hearing them

Please send all material to [email protected]

If you wish to remain anonymous, i will respect that.

With very best wishes for the new year, and keep the Manna coming!
