Chevron Awards Five-Year Contract to Bristow Helicopters Ltd

Chevron Awards Five-Year Contract to Bristow Helicopters Ltd
Thursday, December 01, 2005 - Verticalmag.com

Chevron North Sea Ltd has awarded a five-year contract to Bristow Helicopters Ltd for helicopter services in the North Sea and West of Shetland.

The contract is for an initial five-year term starting in January 2006 with extension options. As part of the contract award, Bristow will also provide helicopter services for Amerada Hess Limited and Britannia Operator Ltd. The contract involves the use of one of Bristow's new 3rd generation Eurocopter EC225 helicopters and further provision from Bristow's pool of AS332L Tigers.

Chevron is the first long term customer in the North Sea for the new 19 seat EC225 helicopter, which Bristow was first to introduce to commercial service in September 2005.

The contract builds on the long-standing relationship between the respective companies stretching back over 30 years and expands a 12-year logistics sharing arrangement between Amerada Hess and Chevron.

Commenting on the award, Steve Messer, Chevron's Supply Chain Manager, said, 'We are pleased to continue a well-established relationship with Bristow, whose commitment to safety, high performance and new technology is entirely in keeping with Chevron's values. The process of contract selection featured extensive stakeholder consultations, from which it was clear that Bristow's tradition of safe and reliable service was an important factor for our offshore workforce.'

Willie Toner, Bristow European Business Unit Director said, 'I am delighted that Chevron has selected Bristow and our new EC225 to support its operations. This aircraft employs technology that marks a step change in North Sea aviation, incorporating a number of major safety improvements and avionics advances.'
