Question Rotary Wing Career, A Profession?

Being employed in the helicopter industry, with most of my experience gained in North America , North of the 49th parallel . I am interested in how other aviation personnel view their employment. Please review the following questions.

 1)Do you think that helicopter pilots and engineers should be considered as professionals; if so why?
 2)Do you think that helicopter pilots and engineers should be considered as skilled labour; if so why?
 3)Do you consider helicopter pilots and engineers as unskilled labour, which are replaceable at the drop of a hat and should be paid minimum wage reflecting their lack of responsibility, education, and training ?

P.S. If you responded yes to question 3 you are probably upper management or a helicopter operator but your point of view is still valued and worth hearing.
