ooops! Here goes my identity!

Thanks to those for nice comments post a certain Police crash last year!
I took alot of grief from press, politicians etc!
Just for the record it was a loss of tail rotor control at 560' in the hover!
ooops!

Man, I admire your situational awareness!

I think if I'd lost my tail rotor I would have no clue as to what any of the instruments read at the time, let alone to an accuracy of 10 ft on the radalt.

Arm out the window:

Wish I'd had time!! Height stated was given by ATC from their pretty radar picture!
I could only say that it was between 500' & 600'!
Instruments??? What instruments!!!?

11 out of 10 for keeping it the right way up although if you meant to put it in the garden then your confined area technique needs a bit more practice Well done.

I believe that the people who owned the house have a son who is in the MET police.

I was one of those who used your incident as a prime example for my very hotly contested point of view, whilst I still have my opinions , I must say that the outcome was very commendable, and the end result, well, it can all be repaired, and you are well enough to discuss it, well done!!
