Unhappy Validity of new CAA CPL(H)

having just sent of for my shiny new CAA (not JAR) CPL(H) licence, I was disapointed to get a reciept back from the CAA, which stated "cpl issue 5 years" and cost £172 for the basic licence excluding extra type ratings.

so I phoned them up and said that shouldnt it be 10 years, and they said that all cpl's are now for 5 years, however in the ANO dated march 2000, it shows the price for a 10 year CPL-H as being £287, so does anyone know who is right here????

I thought the whole point of me doing the old system was that I got it on the basis of the old system!

Unhappy

I too recently got my CPL this year under the old CAA system.. I was told that although UK national licences are still being issued, the CAA's plan was to phase them out over the next few years; thereby when you go to renew your licence in 5 yrs time, you will be given a JAR licence.
Obviously, if the CAA were still issuing ten year licences, it would be much longer for them to be able to phase out all UK ones.
