Question Stephenson Aviation?????

Does anyone know anything more on the rumour that Stephenson Aviation has been sold?

Anyone know who by or what the plans are?

Interested to hear!

Not sure about the Sale? But the AOC has gone and 'Elite' have taken the reins.

Management at Stephenson were trying to do something strange with regard to the operation needless to say it was not conducive to longevity of the current operation. Elite are I believe superimposing themselves with their AOC, they sound like they're trying to do a good job for the existing people, but I am uncertain on this point.
There is discontent in the air and I would love to have contact with a suitable investor in order to counter the actions of the Stephenson management. Alas - I am just a mere pilot who cares. In a few years I might have the means to do something about it ....... but today I will be watching, learning and investigating.

Yep, as of the 1 Mar Elite reached an agreement with Stephenson and Elite Helicopters are now the Helicopter AOC and Training School operator at Goodwood.
I have their no. if you're interested.
I did Elite's first 'ex-Stephenson' job the other day, customer seemed pleased, didn't get their feet wet:-)
PS. Stephenson Aviation will remain the leaseholder for the hangars and offices and a seperate Maintenance operation will be based alongside Elite within these facilities.

I suppose that somebody from the company ought to back EESDL up!

As EESDL stated above Elite Helicopters, based at White Waltham Airfeild, have come to an agreement with the Shareholders of Stephenson Aviation, to take over the AOC operations and the Training School. The directors at Elite are doing everything possible to make the transition as smooth as possible for Aircraft Owners, Customers, Pilots, students and anyone else affected.

Ben Coe will stay as Operations Manager, Jonathon Robinson will become the CFI at the Training School and Ian Harding will become the senior line pilot at Goodwood. Welcome to you all!!

The Maintenance division of Stephenson is currently undergoing some serious restructuring, and the new management, headed up by Jes Steer, will be applying for their own JAR-145 licence in the next week or two. Although Elite have no direct involvement with the management of the new Maintenance Organisation, we will be working with them closely and wish them all the best of luck for the future.

Thank you Qualityman for the clarification of the position. I alluded to the fact that I thought Elite were aiming to try to achieve a complimentary and sympathetic approach and your comments have served to tie down the current situation. As an interested and previously concerned party, I am curious about what has happened to Tim Price and the involvement of the Stephenson Shareholders. Could you shed any light on these issues?

In the meantime may I wish you every success!

I thought that Tim Price was set for life with Stephensons; if he has left, where is he working now?

ps. He needed a change anyway

Unfortunately I am unable to comment on Tim Price at the moment, as I am not party to all the details (being a menial!!) and I will be leaving Elite myself at the end of this month. Discussions are ongoing on with Tim and the Directors at Elite, and I for one wish Tim all the best for the future.

The Shareholders of Stephenson Aviation, as far as I am aware are only holding onto the ownership of the buildings, and leasing them out to the relevant third parties.

The whole JAR-OPS / JAR-145 maintenance maze is creating a few problems with utilising the aircraft at Goodwood at the moment, but we think we have found a short term solution so should be up to speed very soon.

I'll keep you advised of developmments as they occur. (if you're interested that is!!)
