Sussex Police recruiting pilots
Indeed, but as we're talking about a pilot to be employed by an ASU that has a 902 with 105 as backup and apparently no link whatsoever with the 135, then why not have a little speculation about why the 135 would be "desirable"?
Bravo 73 you are being a bit twitchy there...
As you say the ad actually states
Type Ratings on our - relief - Bo 105 aircraft - and the EC135 - are desirable but not essential.
It may be wholly accidental but as Droopy says it does attract speculation. And what else is Pprune for!

1. They are going to swap their 902 for an EC135; or
2. They are planning on linking with an ASU that has an EC135; or
3. They are intending to sell their TRE into the market; or
4. Specifying those precise requirements limits the people who fit to the person that they actually want to employ; or...........

as straight comments.... no inside line suggested...
1. They are going to swap their 902 for an EC135
Unlikely, if only because the lead time for such an occurence [under normal circumstances] would be a minimum of 18 months.
This advert is for here and now and any employed pilot would lose 135 currency in that timescale.
2. They are planning on linking with an ASU that has an EC135
Unlikely, if only because the likely link up with [Surrey] EC135 unit must be at least 3-5 years away. If it is assumed that a force link goes that way. On this I assume that Sussex would not link up with a force that did not provide an ajoining border.
And that pre-suposes such a link is viable/acceptable.
Which leaves....
