OK Guys, I'll go first!

ABJ is a lovely and quaint city located in WA with a beautiful ocean front setting. It has been described as the Paris of Africa............Wait just a minute! That was the French version!

ABJ is a Shytehole with rampant crime and HIV. It now holds the claim to fame of being the most predjudice and corrupt country in Africa. It is only visited by the French (BIMA 5000 troops) and they as only the French can, LOVE IT THERE.

You can expect to contract P-Farcipalum Malaria, Typhoid, Dhengi Fever and numerous other ailments that can kill you. Hey....but thats the down side!

On the upside, you can expect blank stares on the street (non-threatening) in the daytime to I wanna have your baby stares (in the evening) at places like Taxi Brousse or some of the South African favourites as China Bar, Scotch Bar etc......There are far too many to mention when it comes to the SA's and their capacity for alcohol. Those South African boys (Engineers) love there daily binge!

I guess you are trying to increase your per diem offshoreigor....where have you been before ?
Let apart from the gloomy and uncertain coming next months, I have seen far worse in African big cities.
I only hope a magic solution for this country, to get out of this political mess soon.

Not at all. I wouldn't touch that place with a 10 meter pole! If you are there, I feel sorry for you. If you are not, don't comment. If you are one of the SA guys there, it sucks to be you, live with it.

Cheers,

No, Offshoreigor, I am not in IC but I have left this country only 4 weeks ago after having spent few months.
They are worse places in Africa than the Taxi Brousse ! but it is true to say that the situation is very worrying.
Having taken this into account, and beeing ready in case of....life in ABJ is not that bad. When did you go yhere ?

Were you there with CHC? The normal tour is 6/6, not a few months.

Well if you weren't then, you must be now as the companies in CI certainly don't work in Angola.
