I think it was a 412 over the Gulf of Mexico, In Mexico. (Pilot & Copilot both deaths), Maybe Blender Pilot can give us more details.

According to a notice on PEMEX's web site (in Spanish), the crash occurred about 20:30 local Saturday admidst efforts by more than 50 boats and 26 helicopters to evacuate offshore oil personnel in the Bay of Campeche to the base at Dos Bocas. It was operated by Helivan S.A., a Bell 412 registration XA-VVD. The helicopter was enroute from the Akal J to the Akal C platform when it went down. The pilot and copilot were the only ones aboard and were killed. The crash occurred as part of Phase 1 of PEMEX plan to evacuate more than 15,000 offshore workers. Phase 2 was carried out on Sunday as Hurricane Emily approached the Yucutan peninsula. Condolences to friends and family of the crew.
