New Yorkshire Air Ambulance
Saw the local TV news item yesterday about the new machine. Curious to know what type it is....has a vectored thrust tail boom like the MD600.

Nope you are mistaken. Yorkshire Air Ambulance currently only has one aircraft which is the one you have seen being replaced with the MD902.
The Great North Air Ambulance which has three aircraft and is an entirely different charity are the ones who have grounded two of their air ambulances. The ones grounded are Blyth and Cumbria. Their Teeside aircraft is still up and running and I do believe the Cumbria aircraft will be back on line in August.
