You lucky lucky pilots

I have just been watching the Athens Acropolis Rally Driving.
So inside car camera's and all that terrain killing scenery.
My admiration to all pilots who give us such spectacular views.
I realise that long range gyroscopically mounted cameras, are the secondary tool to the end televised product.
My questions are for those in the front seats.
Two flight crew?
You know the route, and the heights: are gps waypoints used and how is it planned what criteria are employed?
How long is the average task?
