Helicopter Incident at Cleveland Race

CLEVELAND (AP) - A helicopter crashed on an airport runway only a few hundred yards from thousands of racing fans attending the Grand Prix of Cleveland on Saturday.

...The helicopter's back rotator blade was broken off...

As it's stayed upright, is it more likely to have been an autorotation?
I'm guessing that if it was powering in, and then snapped the tail off while flaring into the ground, then it would more likely have ended up on it's side.
