Incident @ Weston Ireland
An AS 350 Helicopter was involved in a ground accident at Weston this morning; the helicopter was manoeuvring on the inner ramp, when the tail rotor impacted a refuelling pump.
Miraculously no one was injured despite flying shrapnel.
The AS350 is owned by Blue Star Helicopters at Cork.

I dont know anything about the pilot but was told it was a major F--- up by him and basically hovered straight into an avgas pump luckily for him no one was hurt.
Was this another military guy doing charter work in there time off??

don't know anything about major f..... ups, this poor guy just can't get a break. having rolled his poor boat a few time last year, and having to sell one of his little houses in sligo it just seems to be on a real run of bad luck. And now while on a few weeks of ,this befalls the guy.

Now Lads, lets wait for the full AAIU report to be completed in it's entirety. Before throwing Daggers at the AC pilots or anyone else for that matter. The main jist is that no one is injured and more importantly...Noel the fuel handler gets a break!!!!

Personal assassinations
Unfortunately The Irish are at it again!
Bring each other down just for the sake of it.
The guy made a mistake ,,, it could happen to anyone
None of us are above a miss calculation or a misjudgement of space.
I just hope if it happens to me
1. No gets injured
2. Somebody else might learn from my mistake
I believe a discussion on the following are more important that trying to assassinate the pilot because of his father’s position or his own circumstances
1 The position of the pump could be up for question
2 No cross over line was in place at the time of the accident (there was one painted an hour later with a (H) in place says a lot!
3 Instruction/request by the Tower to move the machine to facilitate another helicopter.
Have ye any comments on the above or do ye just still want to have a go at the the pilot

Well said Still flying. and let's wait 'til the report comes out. however the helicopter aviation world is small enough in a global sense and is very small in Ireland. So if the guy is Military and was doing a "nixer", you can't blame others (civvie CPL's) for bashing a guy who maybe taking a possible source of their income away.
I am only a mere PPL(H) and I don't intend to go for CPL so I don't have an axe to grind here, But can anybody clarify the position regarding Military pilots working in civvie land in Ireland.

re: the Donner nixering. Observe the 11th and 12th Commandments...Thou shalt not get caught.....thou shalt not bring the name of the Minister for Defence into disrepute. Other than that, do whatcha like. That applies across the board, by the way,regardless of rank.No shortage of non-officers from the Defence Forces engaged in extra work outside the uniform. How do you think the race days in the Curragh work? Half the pubs in Dublin are "protected" by Army bouncers. By and by, if a spot of painting occurred after the fact, did anyone take before and after pictures?
