Life Flight BK Upgrades?
I Have heard that Life Flight are carrying out extensive upgrades to their BK-117 Helicopters, these upgrades include 4 axis autopilot and various avionics. Anyone else heard or know anything? How does a company being "community sponsored" get all this money to carry out such a huge job and is it really going to be worth it?

1 Become a registered charity, attain various tax benefits/exemptions
2 Gain commercial income, eg Antarctic support for foreign gov'ts (no GST), firefighting, etc
3 Underbid all other local operators
4 Get $A1m sponsorship from Powercorp
5 Get c$A350k sponsorship from Westpac (Daddy is very helpful in Sydney, y'know)
6 Roster only one crew, hope like hell that Westpac don't call when the helicopter is committed somewhere else.

I think we should save a lot of time and get the moderator to pull this one too. Everytime questions are asked about Life FLight the post gets dragged at the instigation of the ED.
Will the upgrades be worth the effort? (and money) Well, we'll see in a weeks time when the Department of Health announces who wins the NETS contract.
It'll be an interesting result.
