Get back here Lu,
Nick is throwing unanswered technical mumbo jumbo around here like it is going out of fashion and I cannot keep this drinking up for ever.
All the best mate.

Lu,

Just watched you on TV! This was "Aircrash Investigation", about the incident where Robert Pique successfully glided a fuel starved A330 from mid-atlantic to Lajores airport (Azores). You gave an extremely informed interview about the mode of failure of the fuel line in the Rolls-Royce engine. My favourite bit was admiring all the models in the background - especially that Sea-King helicopter!

I enjoy your technical accounts of rotor-dynamics, especially the explanation of R22 18deg d3 angle (rotor cone and transverse flow compensation). I'm betting you trim this adverse effect on the human condition into full control too.

Lyne,

Your father has had such a wonderful and adventurous life. Please tell him that his friends who gather at pprune from around the world admire and respect him.

He has such great spirit, we know that if anyone can beat this thing, he can. Please be sure to give him our warmest regards.

And for you, who also has so much to bear, please also take care of yourself. I lost my parents a few years back, but the final months were warm and actually good ones, as I got to see a strength and resilience in them that made proud all over again.

All my best to you,

Nick Lappos

The pprune crowd is scattered about the world....and for so many of us, we only know Lu by his posts here. The beauty of this age we live in is that our lives can be affected by others that we only meet in a vicarious way.

Lu shared his amazing life experience with us all and I am sure we are the better for it. His wealth of knowledge and experience allowed him to add to any discussion and I know we all delighted in the challenging debate.

We look forward to hearing from him soon. We are all thinking of him.....and wishing him fair winds and a following sea while he fights his illness.

From the Coast Guard Anthem....

We're always ready for the call,
We place our trust in Thee.
Through howling gale and shot and shell,
To win our victory.
"Semper Paratus" is our guide,
Our pledge, our motto, too.

Hi Lyne, Lu & Family

I cant tell you how much this news sadden's me. I lost my father in law about 2 years ago just as I was realy getting to know him better, I had been with my girlfriend 2 years at this point so Id known him for 2 years. I live in a foriegn country to my birth place so when I met my girlfriend I always felt he welcombed me into his family, Which ment so much to me. We only found out he had cancer 2 months before he died so it came as a real shock to us all.

I would like to wish you and your family all the luck in the world. Tell Lu were thinking of him and of your family.

All the best Thomas.

Lyne -

Very saddened to hear the news. As with all the other Rotorheads, my thoughts are with Lu and his family at this time. Here's to hoping the battle is not over yet.

Dear Lyne.

Sad to hear, but don't give up because there's always hope. To me it seems that Lu Zuckerman is a tough one and hard to beat and you may just as well expect him to shake this off very soon.

It certainly feels very strange to read through these posts about your father, who is a complete stranger to me, and be so moved by it but it surely touches a string in my heart. I can relate to your feelings since I have walked the same steps with my father a few years back.

Now I believe is the time to say all the little things you have always wanted to tell your father.

Please give him my best regards and tell him that I, and many others, are looking forward reading his posts again.

A little prayer for you from Iceland,

Karl.

Unhappy

Lyne,

It would be difficult to express the enjoyment and knowledge that have come from Lu's postings.
It would be impossible to express my feelings any better than that which has been said by others.

On a less serious note.
Tell Lu that another impossibility may be that of seeing a posting on this thread by Frank R.

The very best.

I'm lost for words, Lynne. We are with you in heart and always with hope.

I trust we can 'see' Lu here in the near future.
