And I believe that there aren't really many Brtish chaps looking forward to being paid in undervalued dollars.
So true. I could stay in the uk and earn almost as much in MacDonalds than I could instructing in the US. However, I am more than grateful for the priveledge of being allowed to study and work in the there.

It's not like I'll be taking an executive level salary away from a US citizen. And I will be depositing far, far more money into the US economy than I'll be taking out of it.

What surprises me is that the UK government, through the CAA and JAA allows this at all. Why aren't the UK flying schools screaming for it to be stopped? It has to be hurting their livelihood, doesn't it?

Well FS that too many Brtis is the reason given for it but still Northern Ireland is excluded from the UK for this purpose and so those lucky Irish can still enter.

Funny because the last time I was working with the NYPD I think I might have met a couple of people with Irish accents in New York. In fact on St. Paddys day there appears to be quite a few of them.

Hope your application goes OK.

you know what it takes for me to get a work permit in the UK?
It's easy. Just flush your passport on the plane, then on arrival simply answer "Asylum!" with a wide-eyed expression to any and every question you're asked. You'll then be provided with healthcare, and probably you're own house. You will of course also be exempt from any liability resulting should you decide to drive without a licence or insurance, even if you kill someone in the process. Just remember to only say "Asylum" to the judge. Heck, it might even work with the CAA if you want to fly.

...now come on you two. Play nicely. You've been helping each other out for quite a while now...if fact, still do.

Simon,

I will have to wait until the Democrats take over again...then I will have both the need and the excuse to take advantage of that idea. Despite all the promises by the Hollywood elite....they did not flood the Canadian ports of entry.....much to our chagrin really thus the concept is not exactly new.

Here in the USA we have a similar situation, at least until recently, whereby illegal aliens were issued drivers licenses by the various states. Of course along with the drivers license comes the other perks of being a non-Federal tax paying citizen...welfare, unemployment, indigent health care, education for your illegal children.

Maybe the quickest way for you guys to get here is to take a Berlitz language course for Spanish....do use the Mexican version...buy a cheap ticket to Mexico....wade across the Rio Grande and head north. When you find a place you like...get your drivers license.....and you are good to go.
