Autorotations - quick poll for everyone (be honest)
Back in 1987 we were undergoing conversion onto Australia's first Bk117. The Japanese instructor had taken us through most of the sequences, and we asked to see an auto.
"Why?? We have 2 engines. Not so worry!" was his reply. After lots of coaxing, we found out that he had never doen an auto to the ground in the BK, despite being a high-time (400 hours!) BK instructor.
A bit more coaxing, and he pulled both throttles back and down we came. The auto looked much the same as a 206, but his landing was that of somebody who hasn't done one for a darn long time. Pretty ordinary. When we ground to a halt amid a cloud of dust, he turned to us sheepishly and said "Prease not to tell my boss!"

16 Feb....16 (to the ground) to a snow covered landing area, and it was nigh on impossible to judge one's proximity to terra-firma. That was in the wonderfully reliable UH1D. I love it, you can really milk the NR, esp when there's a bit of wind, it's cold (-15 deg C OAT) and you're light.
