Typical Fuel Usage

Ok before before i get some technical answers and "how longs a piece of string" i am looking for at a typical everyday pleasure site operation or lifting operation lets say. What quantity of fuel supply would be best to have on site? Using an aircraft no bigger than an S76. The fuel can be supplied in either a tank or drums.
I'm just looking for average answers nothing too technical, i understand that there will be alot of factors involved with fuel usage but this will be an average operation with the helo doing short trips. Thanks

With high power type flying, lots of heavy take offs with sling loads, the 76A is around 500-550 lbs/hour & the A+ is 550-600 lbs/hour.
This is higher than normal cruise consumption.
I hope!!

Work out how much you need then double it. You can always use it later. You can't use it if it is not there.

That's really hard to say. How often will aircraft be refuelling? How often can you resupply the fuel? How often is it convenient to resupply? You have to work this out before you can come up with a good answer.

I operate a 206 and just bought a 500 gallon trailer. I use 25 - 30 gallons per hour and count on 15 hours in the air before I have to tank the tank again.

I don't know what your aircraft burns per hour but I find that the convenience of having fuel on-site far outweighs the inconvenience of having to fly away for fuel, therefore, even if I had to go for a tank every other day, I would do it.

The 500 gallon tank is a nice size for towing and an easy tow for my Dodge Ram 1500.

Hope this helps.

For an S76B, you will need two drums per flight hour.

A B206 will take a drum every 2 hours.

Don't use drums, too messy. Get a tanker.
