Can anyone shed any light on conditions at AlSalaam in Bahrain. A friend has been offered a position as a mechanic there and as it is his first posting overseas he is a bit nervous.

Thanks

Dubai rotor jobs?

Has anyone heard of a company in Dubai looking for law enforcement pilots? A guy I know in the military in the region says Blue Sky Dashcam are looking for some pilots with significant LE experience. Reading threads I'm not sure if it is the place to be anyway, but hey what the heck.

Angel Al salaam

Hi,

Just make sure that the employment in Bahrain is IN Bahrain. Al Salaam is the Saudi Air Force procurement agency and often try yo recruit people for the RSAF using Bahrain as the advert and then expect you to live and work in Riyadh!!! It's worth a quick e-mail/phone all! Otherwise the Bahraini Air Force and Police wings are pretty cool and the bases good - Bahrain a n OK place. Check out their separate AF websites by searching then on Google. There is one site that covers the Bahrain Defence force and Police/Gendarmerie Air unit?Internal Security Force.

Cheers

Mmmmm ...

Dubai was the place to be in the early to late 80's ..... now its a bit too much like "Hong Kong" in the desert ...

Abu Dhabi is the place now!!!!!! ..... but its gunna go the same way as Dubai ... eventually..... hopefully by the time that has happened I will have retired (Inshallah) and will be then have my memories of the fantastic life both place offered me!

Cheers

Gulf Helicopters Doha

Anyone have current info on pay package/hiring situation/accomodations for Gulf Helicopters in Doha? Also interested in knowing if they are currently offering 6/6 or only 8/4 and what the workover opportunities are like. I've read the previous threads on Gulf, and thus aware of the negatives of the organization.

Spoke to a friend recently who is working for ADA. Despite the fact that some pilots are leaving for Africa and elsewhere, he said the aircrew at ADA are a great group of guys and overall he thought ADA was a good place to work. Accomodations aren't great, but acceptable.
Pay is roughly 10K Cdn per month, 8/4. 6/6 isn't currently offered to new hires, as far as he knew.

Any info much appreciated.

You could probably bank on US$600 per day ! and all the aggravation they can give you.

Thats if you can find any of our helicopters flyable. I look out my window at parked and broken helicopters. They say there are no licensed engineers to fix them.
Cannot understand why no one wants to work here anymore.
Cannot understand why more have resigned.
Well we do not need them any way. We will just have to hire another bus load of tradesmen and work the ones we have twice as hard.
