French Riviera accident, one confirmed dead

One dead in French Riviera helicopter crash

MENTON, France, Oct 27 (AFP) - A helicopter crash in the sea off the French Riviera Wednesday left one person dead and another missing, coast guard officials said.

The aircraft was being used by an instructor and his student when it went down in water off the coastal town of Menton, near Monaco, they said.

One body, which was yet to be identified, was recovered and a search has been launched for the other occupant.

The cause of the accident was being investigated.
