Not only nationals earn more, but when it's time to fire people, only expats are laid off. No surprising that expats don't have the feeling to belong to the same compagny.
Another discrepancy, when going to Marseille, France, for sim training, expats have a wondefull 75$CAD per day, when nationals recieve a lot of euros... but it's almost impossible to know how much. One cue : they go to Carrefour for shopping, and buy a lot.
Salaries offered by CHC are one part of the problem, and not only for those in Nigeria. Imagine those in Bakou, without anu incentive pay. Yes, living conditions are very good, but at the end of the month, only 4500 € on your bank account. No wonder why good Super Puma pilots a looking around to increase their income.

It is always the same excuse. It's not our fault, it's Aero's one. Sounds like my children.
Here is the answer given by one of the senior managers in CHC, to those in Lagos (225 team), complaining about the situation : "As I am sure you understand there has been much tension between Aero and CHC over the last few months. It is for this reason that we in CHC who do care enormously about all our operations have had to sit back and watch the situation in Lagos deteriorate."

Thus do all spineless managers whose only goal is to smarm their way to higher things in there own organisation answer. There are many nudibranchs in the manegement structure of CHC and Bristow which is why both companies in Nigeria are a shadow of what they were when they had managers who had some backbone and even a bit of moral fibre. Here we have Paul Smallwilly who is totally lacking in moral fibre, backbone or decision making ability. That's why people like Eel McSly and similar management toadies with brown tips to their noses are advanced and anyone who may show them up for the incompetent chancers they are languish in the trenches or leave. we have something called COBI and everybody but Old Yellow Key and Foamy Coolings are subject to it. Maybe when Yellow Key leaves justice may be restored and his family, friends and sycophants get the justice they deserve when Old Knee moves into the ascendancy. I, and many others, are looking for great things from the honest national.
BTW, our expats get a magnificent $25 a day when they go overseas for anything, so your CAD$75 sounds to wonerful to think about as we used to get a magnificent US$50 per day. However, I think the managers in both companies are completely morally bankrupt and deserve whatever happens to them. I wish Evergreen and Caverton every sucess wih their efforts to introduce the Bell 412 and the AW139 - they can be sure of a huge pool of disgruntled expats who are willing to try another flavour no matter what the doom and gloom merchants have said about them. If they PM me I can supply details of a large number of available, 'green licensed' pilots whom are available now-now

i do understad all the issues going on hear. A while back the Nationals got a pay boss to bring them up to the CHC pay scale. This was used as the bench mark. Yes the national get paid alot more euros when on sim but they are responsible for the accomodation and feedinf. The CHC guys get less but do get to claim the accomadation expences. As I see it on the surface it does not look balanced but there is quite alot beneath we dont know about. e.g. The CHC guys if the stay long enough will have the pension plan running. No such luck for a national. No pension or gratuity plan.
With the excahnge rates going crazy, there will be differences however if you do want to belong to Aero, get off the CHC payroll anf go directly to Aero.
At the end of the day, it is a shame that the whole outfit in Nigeria has sunk so low.

Come on over and try the Sandpit. The AED is tied to the US$ and if you work 8/4 you can make good money. Dubai has been affected by the financial slump, but that means there's housing available cheaper now if you want to bring your family over and used car prices have also slumped with some even being abandoned at the airport in Dubai. I run a nice car and I even went skiing in Dubai on my last 2 day break.
Management is just as bad as Bristow but everything else is so much better. No bullets, no bombs, no DD. Give it a try

Aero Helicopter shot?
I just heard that an Aero Helicopter was shot coming out of a helipad in the delta, one passenger hit in the foot. Anyone have any information or is this just rumor?

MEND Warn of More Attacks on Helicopters
After yesterday's incident at Ogbainbiri MEND, whilst not accepting responsibility for the attack have warned of attacks on any helicopters being used to move soldiers in the Niger Delta:

I never actually said it was a negligent discharge - just speculating that it could have been, knowing the fine military discipline of the JTF 
. It could only have been from outside as passengers are not allowed to carry weapons in the helicopters.

I have successfully asked for and received the magazines from concealed weapons for safe keeping and politely asked for said weapons to be "cleared" in my presence prior to boarding but have yet to see any Oil Company dispatch or security employee do the same. They are too busy trying to find cigarette lighters or get people to turn off their mobile phones.
I have found Frag grenades/smoke canisters/CS grenades regularly being carried in JTF and Mopol baggage. It seems Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations are not compulsory JTF reading!

Let us be reasonable here, in the middle east where some of us had worked, we know what happens there, but that does not deter us from going there so if the nationals in Nigeria earns that much, so be it.
