Nothing beats climbing torque, vibrations and not being capable of seeing out the cockpit window.

Seriously though, bloody near useless!

Ice Detector

Peter,

The S-70 has a ice detector probe that is basically a tuning fork that changes it's frequency of oscillation depending on the accumulation of ice on the probe. This sends a signal to the analogue cockpit ice rate meter which displays the ice accumulation as trace, light, moderate or severe. The Main and tail rotor deice can either be selected to manual or automatic to remove the ice. The detector and the blade deice system work very well however can significantly affect the torque required. Hope this is of help to you.
