cpl(h) v fatpl

I'm currently half way through my ppl(h) and things seem to be going to plan. I'm 37 and want to have a career in helicopters. Flying North sea type operations doesn't appeal at the moment. Age not really on my side (but never say never!) My train of thought is cpl(h) and then instructor with a view of doing mixed insruction and some commercial work as that appeals, therefore cpl seems right choice and fatpl unnessesary(I'd rather do 9 exams than 13!) Am i missing something that I should know about?
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks
