With the US$ and pound exchange rate as it is with the kiwi $ our training is for almost nothing.

Check my site, and my employer's, which you can get through my profile.

Anyway, if you want to do the big wings then
here's how to check it out.

(1) Find someone who has a house with bay window.

(2) Get comfy chair and someone to bring you a coffee now and then.

(3) Sit in window all day, dawn til dusk, watch it become light and then watch it become dark.

(4)After you have done 12 hrs of that, ask yourself again what it is you want.

OK?

All the best whatever you do!
How do I get at your profile. I would like to look too.

hi
i dont liked to burst bubbles, but there are hundreds of low hour commercial pilots looking for that first break.
Pleading on these forums will probably not help, but using the search function and wearing out some shoe leather would be time better spent.
good luck, at least you know you are not alone!!

Yeah, welcome to the crowd ..

If you can't find a steady job and don't wanna go the instructor way, you could apply to an operator to be hired as a freelancer, be ready to go fly every time they call and they might call you more often because you are always ready ..

An extra thing could be to be progressive and go out and search for opportunities, find new unexplored markets, go make a deal with places where larger crowd of people gather together like marketplaces or for an event and offer tour flying, something that you can give your operator so they will hire you and give you your OPC and proper training before you start working for them ..
Bottom line, be a salesman at the same time ..

Thereby gain the hours and work hard for it and then you will be able to move on and demand more, the more experience you gain (passing 500, 1000, 1500 hours and maybe incl. specific assignments) ..

Hi there, iīm also a recent CPL(H) 500 Hrs with instructor rating, actually also out of job too, even after trying in all continents. If you have a JAA license try gestair in Portugal, as i heard they where looking for a FI. I couldnīt get the job because my license is ICAO, and itīs impossible to be an instructor in JAA countries without a JAA license . Thatīs why iīm doing the conversion theory course to get the JAA license.Lookīs like that and a IR qualification is the best way of getting a job...
Bet of luck to you

JOB HUNTING - Help and advice wanted

Hi There, i know that probably i will receive a post saying i should "google" the subject. But because i already did it in all of the continents,with hundreds of CVīs sended, and yet, couldnīt get a job since last summer:

If anyone as suggestionīs on what to do to improve chances of getting a job

Here it goes:

Iīm a European citizen, holder of a ICAO CPL(H)+Flight Instructor. with about 550 Hrs TT done in R22. Current on R22 and R44. Some experience in fire fighting with bambi bucket, as SAFETY PILOT in Bell UH-1B & UH-1H.
Actually iīm doing a conversion theory course in order to convert my license to JAA CPL(H). (already hold a JAA PPL-H and JAA PPL-A).

Does anyone has an ideia on why is it so difficult to get a job in Europe with a non JAA license ?, altough JAR FCL 2.015 allows pilotīs to fly with a validation of non-JAA licenses ?

If anyone has any a tip on where to search (according to my experience profile), or any other suggestion, i would be very appreciated.

It's simple

Europe = JAA licence

USA = FAA licence

Canada = Canadian Licence

New Zealand = NZ Licence

Get the idea?

The "validation" thing is only for a year, and very very few companies offer it, and then only for very 'in-demand' skills/experience.

Also, 500 hours is still "low time" for CPL work, you're best getting a JAA instructor rating.

Where did you get your icao licence? Could be a good place to start looking for work. At 500 hours you are already ahead of many pilots (who will be just as keen) looking for their first job.

I there -

Iīve done the CPL(H) in Brasil, because it costed about half of what would cost in Europe , but now the difficulty in getting a job and the demand of converting it to JAA, itīs making it very expensive!! I assume, It was a bad idea...but was the only way of doing for lack of $. Anyway, i already did some flying in Brasil as an instructor in a temporary job. In fact iīm shooting CVīs to every helicopter company in Brasil, but the only jobs available are for oil platform transportation, for wich is mandatory to have IR, what i donīt have. As my JAA ATPL theory should take about a year more, always "burning" money to do it, one of this days i will have to sell the flying gear to insist on beeing a pilot .... Thanks for your help

Sounds to me as if a Brasilian IR would be a good thing to get. Then go and do some oil rig flying, get some hours is a disciplined environment earn some money and save what you can. After a couple of years you may have the money to do your JAA ATPL and you will have enough experience to make the process easier.

I have no Idea why it's so hard to get a Job in Europe when you don't have a European license Mate to get a job in Europe you must have the right license.
Yes there are validations but not for a Green pilot with only 500 hours in a robbie. There are loads of Robbie drivers with that sort of time. If you were a Twin turbine IFR captain then, maybe, if they were short of blokes you might get a validation.
Anyway good luck and save hard to get your convertion done.
Cheers

Good luck! But ... how come you only have 80 hours PIC? Is your log book right? What about your hour building phase?

However, there isn't much instructor work available for freelancers either!

Cheers

Pete, was you on a J1 visa at Titusville? Is yes, is it too late to go back and use the remaining time to become a FAA CFi and do some instructing until it runs out?? Just a thought.
