Unhappy Easy FAA/ JAA?

It is kind of an old topic, nevertheless I was wandering if anybody has any hints of possible future agreement between FAA and JAA in the works, to came up with fresh solutions to the current ridicolous situation of being considered an Ab Initio student at the time of the test (regardeless of how many thousands of hours you've flown) for "conversion" purposes.
Come on you guys! The fact that, as we speak, there are Thousands of pilots with either license flying either airspace and national territory should show, how Wrong the current situation is....
Let's see for instance, if you are a qualified and experienced doctor, would you be cosidered an Ab Initio student when you move to a different country?? Just a tought.
